About Hope Pregnancy Center

 Hope Pregnancy Center (Originally named Hope for Life) started as a ministry of the Baptist Church of Cheshire (now Christ Community Church) in 1985 with the goal to do whatever could be done on a small scale to save even the life of just one baby.
The scriptural basis for the establishment of Hope for Life is as follows:

• Psalm 139:13-16  “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb   I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (NIV)
• Matthew 18:14  “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost." (NIV)
• John 13:34-35  "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (NIV)
• 1 John 3:18  “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” (NIV)

By September of 1985, we were ready to become established and chose the name Hope for Life.

• We formulated our purpose:
  "The Purpose of Hope for Life is to provide an alternative to abortion by meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of women, and make it possible for them to carry their baby to term."

• We formulated our Objective:
  "The objective of Hope for Life is to lift up Jesus by expressing love to others, in obedience to His word; to meet as many of the needs of women as possible; and to provide continuing love and support after the baby is born, gradually decreasing support as she gains confidence."

Through the years our volunteers and board members have faithfully worked towards providing help to women in need. Since our inception in 1985 Hope Pregnancy Center has served 3,851 clients, and 175 babies have been born to our clients. We have  answered more than 10,453 phone calls, given 1,128 pregnancy tests, and given clothes and baby equiptment to approximately 2,530 clients  and cribs to approximately 355 clients!!!
